Thompson Orchard Neighbourhood News – December 2023
In this edition: Holiday House-Decorating Contest | Snow-Building Contest | Winter Social

Our Annual Holiday House Decorating Contest is back! As the neighbourhood dazzles us with its decorations for the holiday season, volunteer judges from the TOCA board will be touring the neighbourhood the week of December 18th, to select this year’s winners.
Prizes this year are sponsored by Sweet Crumbs, a handcrafted cookie business in the neighbourhood. Specializing in fun and unique cookie flavours such as Lucky Charms, Rocky Road, Chocolate Chip, and holiday favourite Ferrero Rocher! Now taking orders for delivery or local pickup in the neighbourhood, Dec 21 โ 24. Check out @sweetcrumbs.co on Instagram for more information on prices, flavours, and how to order!

ATTENTION SNOW-BUILDERS! New this year, inspired by other weather-based contests such as โThe Eddieโ big-wave surfing competition, this year’s Snow Building Contest is going to be held based on weather conditions: as soon as we receive the first snowfall of 5cm or more, an alert will be sent out to get you all building! Over the following days, judges will survey the neighbourhood to nominate and vote on this yearโs winners. Watch out for the snow forecast, keep your shovels at the ready, and stay tuned for the alert!

Community Mixer – Winter Edition: Mark your calendars, the next community mixer will be held on Saturday February 3rd, at 7pm. This time we will be supporting another local business, The Bull on Bloor, just west of the Mimico Creek bridge. Our last socials have been very well-attended, so come on out, meet your fellow neighbours, and beat those winter blues away! Free drink for the first 20 attendees! – CLICK HERE to RSVP –
